OAR is excited to announce that ONEHOPE Wine has contributed $25,000 to OAR. The generous donation will fund three ONEHOPE awards of $5,000 each and Platinum level sponsorship of the 2021 Active for Autism 5K & Kids Dash, the first at that level in the three-year history of the event. OAR introduced the ONEHOPE awards in conjunction with last year’s scholarship program with $5,000 awards to the scholarship recipient in each named program whose personal story was most inspirational as judged by the Hussman and Schwallie Family Scholarship Committees respectively. Thanks to this gift, OAR will have an additional ONEHOPE award to make when the 2021 scholarships are announced in August.

On behalf of our community, we are honored to sponsor this year’s Active for Autism Virtual 5k and support innovative research through OAR’s Changing Lives Fund,” says Kristen Shroyer, ONEHOPE co-founder and executive vice president of foundation & partnerships. 

“What excites us most about our partnership with ONEHOPE Wine is how much they have taken our mission to heart,” says Mike Maloney, OAR executive director. “They basically just asked, ‘How can we help?’ Their actions say the rest.”

The proceeds from the Active for Autism 5K & Kids Dash will go to OAR’s Changing Lives Fund, which is used solely for direct research and programs support. In November, OAR will allocate the available funds to support new research studies. The goal is to raise $80,000, enough to fully fund two research studies. Any funds raised over $80,000 will go to support OAR’s mission to apply research to the challenges of autism.
