peter-gerhardtDr. Gerhardt, OAR’s founding Scientific Council chairman, gave a 45-minute presentation on the topic of transition planning, including a review of current national autism indicators; the definitions of quality of life; and the advantages of community-based instruction for targeting key skills in areas such as employment, transportation, extracurriculars, and communication. Of the 700 plus registrants, more than 350 of them attended the free online event.

Of the 200 participants who provided feedback:

  • 95 percent reported the content as being helpful and relevant to their needs.
  • On a scale of 1 to 5, 98 percent rated the overall webinar session as three out of five or higher.
  • 91 percent reported that they were likely to participate in another OAR webinar event.

Based on this overall feedback, OAR will continue building its webinar series through 2018. Newsletter subscribers will receive updates as new events are scheduled.
