OARacle Newsletter

The major charity-rating website, GreatNonprofits, has recognized OAR as a “top-rated” nonprofit organization for the 14th year in a row. GreatNonprofits provides a platform for community members to share testimonials about the impact of nonprofit organizations.

OAR’s recognition is based on reviews by OAR friends, volunteers, and community partners who provided overwhelmingly positive feedback during this year’s campaign. OAR is honored and deeply appreciative of this response to its continued efforts to raise money, fund research, and change lives for autistic people and their families.

Highlights from the 2023 Reviews

“OAR’s siblings’ guidebooks made me feel empowered and helped my older son become more understanding about his brother’s autism. I loved that the kid’s guidebook was fun, bright, and interactive! It made it so easy to engage with and really helped my son become excited to learn all about autism and how special his little brother is.” – An OAR supporter

“The Organization for Autism Research (OAR) is an exceptional nonprofit whose actions result in meaningful access to information and resources for autistic individuals. As a professional previously in K-12 and now in higher education, I routinely recommend OAR resources to autistic individuals, their families, and professionals for a variety of critically important topics such as transition, sexuality, and safety.” – An education professional

“I joined the Organization for Autism Research earlier this year as a volunteer navigator. My role is to work with job seekers in resume reviews, cover letter development, and interview preparation as well as an overall sounding board during their job search. I have been extremely impressed by the professional backgrounds and commitment shown by the other navigators. I have also felt very supported by the OAR staff. They are extremely proactive and share timely / pertinent information to help us better support our job seekers. This is a wonderful organization that I am proud to be a part of!” – A Hire Autism navigator
