News and Knowledge

OAR is proud to announce the winners of this year’s Applied Research Competition. At the recommendation of the Scientific Council, OAR’s Board of Directors authorized funding for eight studies starting in January 2019. These new grants totaling $228,036 bring OAR’s total research funding to over $3.7 million since 2002.

OAR received an initial 152 applications during the preproposal round. Of those, OAR invited 57 applicants to submit full proposals. Of the 55 full proposals OAR received, 25 advanced to the final round. OAR’s Scientific Council narrowed down the selection and identified eight research studies that merited applied research funding, sending those on to the Board for authorization.
