As a part of Hire Autism’s national expansion, OAR will debut new online job seeker and parent resources throughout the year. We know that navigating the job search can sometimes be a bit overwhelming.

Our first round of new guides aims to provide job seekers with step-by-step instructions on how to build strong resumes and cover letters. A Guide to Resume Writing discusses the role and importance of a resume, parts of a resume, basic formatting and design tips, and features a downloadable resume template. Similarly, A Guide to Cover Letter Writing walks job seekers through how to create a compelling and professional cover letter by breaking down each paragraph and providing examples. This guide will also come with a downloadable template.

In addition to these guides, job seekers can access a free career assessment tool called Jobtimize, available to registered Hire Autism users. OAR is testing this tool with job seekers through April 30. Based upon an individual’s behavioral traits, attitudes, interests, education, and experience level, Jobtimize provides them with personalized job recommendations and listings in their area.

Job seekers can request free resume/cover letter reviews and access Jobtimize by creating a profile on Hire Autism’s website. After successfully registering, they will receive a welcome email with a link to access Jobtimize. If job seekers do not yet have a resume or cover letter, they can use the guides to create the documents and then request their free reviews by emailing us at help@hireautism.org.
