OAR created Hire Autism with the goal of helping individuals with autism find meaningful employment opportunities. Following the completion of its two-year pilot test in Northern Virginia, OAR is ready to expand Hire Autism to all 50 states. Hire Autism supports job seekers through various aspects of the job search process, from career exploration to providing helpful job search tools and advice.
In partnership with Fit First Technologies, a company specializing in online career matching technology, OAR will be testing Fit First’s Jobtimize career assessment program from January 13 through April 30, 2020. Jobtimize provides users with personalized job recommendations and listings in their area that are based upon their behavioral traits, attitudes, interests, education, and experience level.
Job seekers will also have access to Hire Autism’s jobs portal and employment resources as well as Hire Autism navigators. These seasoned professionals review resumes and cover letters, providing direct feedback to jobs seekers to ensure their resumes/cover letters are polished and ready to send to employers.
As with all OAR resources, Hire Autism and all of its tools and guides are free to users. Interested individuals are encouraged to create a profile on Hire Autism’s website where they can apply directly to job opportunities and request assistance with resume or cover letter development. Following a successful registration, individuals will receive an email with a link to access Jobtimize.
