Along with the spring sunshine, OAR’s Hire Autism Program warmly welcomed seven new talented navigators. Congratulations to Jenine B., Cristian C., Kelly D., Lauren G., Holly H.W., Amber H., and Patrick P.!
These volunteers come from diverse personal and professional backgrounds with titles such as recruitment specialist, senior manager of people operations, production editor, operations analyst, training program coordinator, assistant manager, and HR recruiter/analyst.
With the help of our navigators, job seekers gain new confidence and skills to prepare them for their job search. Matt G., a former job seeker, shared, “My navigator helped me tremendously in not only acquiring a new job, but also showed me not to catastrophize things such as simply reaching out for a potential interview or learning about an employer. She and two other navigators have assisted me in understanding how to present myself and understand those I interview with.”
Since 2019, the Hire Autism program has trained over 165 navigators who have helped job seekers over 1,400 times with various aspects of their job search. With growing interest from job seekers, OAR needs more volunteers to help them with their job searches.
Are you or someone you know interested in helping autistic adults look for and find jobs? Apply for our September 2026 cohort. Applications will be accepted until Friday, August 7, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. ET.
