Webinar Description: This webinar describes a framework for supporting autistic students to gain meaningful math skills that will increase their independence at school, at home, and in the community. This approach can be used by teachers, therapists, and families to support school-age and adult autistic students with a wide range of support needs. Participants will learn evidence-based, practical strategies that can be used immediately.
Dr. Jenny Root is an Associate Professor of Special Education at Florida State University. Her research focuses on supporting the development of meaningful academic skills for students with autism and intellectual disabilities. Before entering higher education, Dr. Root was a special education teacher at a public middle school in North Carolina.
