OAR News

Have you started fundraising yet? Don’t forget that, in honor of National Autism Awareness Month, OAR is sponsoring a Facebook fundraiser challenge. OAR has partnered with From Maggie, With Love to award a custom-made item to the Facebook fundraiser that raises the most money for OAR during April. At , designer Maggie Cullen creates wooden flower creations for weddings, home décor, or gift-giving occasions. The specific custom piece will be announced in April, so be sure to keep watch on Facebook to see what you could win.

How Do You Enter?

It’s that easy! For some tips and tricks, visit the Social Media Toolkit where you can download autism facts to share with your friends to encourage their giving. In early May, the winner of the From Maggie, With Love custom piece will be announced. The top two runners-up will also receive some OAR swag, so keep sharing and requesting the donations.

Why Should You Participate?

Other than the opportunity to win a great prize, you will be helping a top-rated organization assist individuals on the autism spectrum live better lives today. The funds you raise will benefit OAR’s programs, including autism research, the Life Journey Through Autism series, educational resources, and more. These resources provide much needed information and help for individuals on the autism spectrum and their families, educators, and caregivers.

You don’t have to take our word for it, though. In the words of one OAR donor and parent, “As the parent of an individual with autism, I have been impressed and helped by OAR’s commitment to disseminate evidence-based information through OAR’s website, resource guides, and monthly e-newsletter. I regularly recommend these resources to other caregivers, teachers, and therapists. It is wonderful to have an organization like OAR providing information we can trust!”
