News and Knowledge

In July OAR held its second annual Active for Autism 5K, transforming it from an on-site 5K into a global virtual event that was a huge success. The event quickly surpassed our original fundraising goal of $40,000, raising more than $70,000. More than 500 runners, representing 34 different states and 6 different countries, participated.

OAR sends our deep gratitude to all of the fundraisers, donors, and sponsors who helped to make the event successful by every measure. All proceeds from the Active for Autism 5K will go to OAR’s new Changing Lives Fund.

“With running events being cancelled due to COVID-19, it was extremely encouraging to see OAR supporters come together virtually to continue to show their support for OAR, and prove that running is not canceled,” says Sean Flynn, Active for Autism 5K race director.
