News and Knowledge

After two years of being virtual, the Marine Corps Marathon (MCM) is back to an in-person race this October. The MCM is consistently one of OAR’s biggest events with 2022 marking the 17th year of OAR’s participation as a charity partner for the MCM and MCM 10K. For the first time, OAR also has entries for the MCM 50K. RUN FOR AUTISM team members can take part in a weekend full of events while enjoying all that Washington D.C. has to offer.

The MCM is annually ranked as one of the largest marathons in the United States and the world. It has been recognized as “Best Marathon in the Mid-Atlantic,” “Best for Families,” and “Best for Beginners.” The MCM is the largest marathon in the world that doesn’t offer prize money, instead celebrating the honor, courage, and commitment of all finishers.

On race weekend, the Hyatt Centric Arlington will be the go-to place for all MCM RUN FOR AUTISM team members, family, and friends. The Hyatt will host OAR’s pre-race team dinner and serve as the site of the race day hospitality (both pre and post-race). OAR has a room block set aside so team members can reserve a room there as well.

The Hyatt is very close to the start/finish line, allowing runners to enjoy the MCM post-race party to its fullest while also having access to an indoor RUN FOR AUTISM celebration with food, drinks, and our favorite race-day perk, flushing toilets.

Sign up today, secure your entry and dedicate your miles to autism research! OAR has entries available for the marathon, MCM 10K, and MCM 50K.
