News and Knowledge

In September, OAR hosted two webinars, which are now available for viewing.

The first, Supporting Paraprofessionals to Implement Functional Communication Training (FCT) to Address Challenging Behavior, was held on September 16 and presented by Drs. Virginia Walker, PhD, BCBA-D, and Megan Carpenter, PhD. The second webinar, The Impact of COVID-19 on Families of Children with Developmental Disabilities, was held on September 29 and presented by researchers from the Autism Intervention Research Network on Physical Health (AIR-P): Priyanka Fernandes, MD, MPH; Candace Gragnani, MD, MPH, and Denise Nunez, MD, MPH.

Of the 288 registrants, 84 people attended the live events. Ninety-five percent of participants who provided feedback reported the content as being helpful and relevant to their needs.
