In 2017, OAR launched Hire Autism, its employment initiative focused on helping individuals on the spectrum find jobs. OAR seeks to expand its work in the employment realm by developing an online resource center for individuals on the spectrum, parents, employers, and job coaches/educators. While Hire Autism is currently only available within Northern Virginia, we are looking to create online resources that will be accessible anywhere.
In order to develop that resource center, Hire Autism is gathering information through this survey for individuals on the spectrum who are seeking or have sought employment and their parents. OAR would appreciate your participation if you are an individual with autism or the parent of an individual with autism. Please answer the questions honestly and openly. Your responses will remain confidential.
If you are a parent, please note that the survey is broken into two sections for you: 1) questions about resources for your loved one. Please consider their perspective when responding, and 2) questions about resources for parents to support their loved one.
Your input is extremely important and will help us identify critical topics and elements that need to be addressed through an online resource center.
