With five months until race day, RUN FOR AUTISM team members are already getting excited about the 2024 Marine Corps Marathon. “I have loved ones with autism and want to support OAR’s great work. I chose the Marine Corp Marathon specifically because it’ll be special to have my first marathon be where I’m from, the DMV [Washington, DC, Maryland, Virginia metro area]!” said runner Noah Wossen.

RUN FOR AUTISM has entries available for the 50K, marathon, and 10K to help fund autism research. Team members receive RUN team gear, training and fundraising support, and an OAR medal. On race weekend, the Hyatt Centric Arlington will be the go-to place for RUN team members, family, and friends. For some runners, including returning runner Jenelle Tittelfitz, meeting other OAR team members was one of the most memorable parts of the weekend. On Saturday, the Hyatt will host the pre-race team get-together, followed by pre- and post-race hospitality on Sunday, including food, drinks, and post-race massage therapists.

Many runners have more than one connection to the Marine Corps Marathon. Cam Player, a first-time OAR runner, said, “As the parent of an autistic child, I am personally aware of the great challenges that come from learning and understanding the needs of autistic children. The resources that have been made available to me and my family in our autism journey have been truly invaluable, and I feel that parents and families all over the world deserve to have access to the same resources. As a military member, this is a special race based on its history, legacy, and what it stands for, bringing all branches of service together.”
