This week, we wanted to share a special opporutnity for military teens with disabilities, including but not limited to autism spectrum disorders.  Read below for more information:

Join Northeast Passage, an adaptive sports and therapeutic recreation organization, for their second annual Military Teen Winter Adventure Camp. This camp, designed for teens (ages 14-18) with disabilities features adaptive sports activities in the spectacular White Mountains of Northern New Hampshire, including alpine skiing, dog sledding, ice skating, a winter campfire, and snow tubing!

The camp, held January 4-7, 2013, is all inclusive – airfare assistance from anywhere in the U.S., lodging, meals and activities are provided and there is room for teens to bring a companion (caregiver, parent, etc).  There are no additional fees.

For over 20 years, Northeast Passage has been a nationally recognized leader in therapeutic recreation. A non-profit affiliated with the University of New Hampshire (50 miles north of Boston), we provide innovative solutions for children, adults, and military veterans with disabilities. We are staffed by a passionate, highly-skilled group of professionals with the sole purpose of empowering individuals with disabilities to define, pursue and achieve their therapeutic recreation goals. Northeast Passage’s staff has experience programming activities for youth with a wide range of disabilities including (but not limited to) spinal cord injury, Muscular Dystrophy, Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida, Autism spectrum, Down Syndrome, visual impairment, amputation, Traumatic Brain Injury and Pervasive Developmental Disorder.
