This brochure provides healthcare staff with a practical application of tips and strategies for serving autistic individuals in hospitals, emergency rooms, or doctor’s offices. Tips include best practices for preparing for the visit through a phone interview with family and/or patient, separating medical considerations from autism considerations, and understanding when they may intersect and when they do not.
The healthcare professional will be informed of tips and strategies for communication and language processing, sensory processing, and behavior considerations.
