JeffCAN Visual Story Template

This interactive, web-based tool helps organizations, parents, and caregivers create customizable visual stories that support neurodiverse individuals attending community events. The framework involves an introduction, action-based photographs, and text that describes necessary steps for an event. The resource contains a tutorial for creating a visual story and a link to the visual story template in Canva.

This approach can resonate with neurodiverse readers by providing clarity, fostering connection, and promoting understanding of interactions during the actual event. For example, athletic events are a popular way to participate in the community, but for many autistic or otherwise neurodivergent individuals, large athletic events can be overwhelming. Visual stories can be a way to prepare for these events and be ready for the sensory experience of attending a game.
