Charity Navigator 4 StarCharity Navigator, America’s largest charity watchdog organization, has awarded OAR its four-star rating, the highest possible, for the fifth consecutive year. Only charities that execute their missions in the most efficient way and exceed industry standards are given four stars.

More than ever, donors look for greater accountability and transparency. Charity Navigator and other organizations like it allow donors to make reliable and informed giving decisions. Charity Navigator’s four-star rating signifies that the organization “exceeds industry standards and outperforms most charities in its cause.”

“Charity Navigator’s four-star rating is extra-meaningful because it represents a completely independent review,” says Mike Maloney, OAR’s executive director. “We don’t participate in the process. Charity Navigator uses its own internal tools to analyze a charity’s financial reports and tax returns going back three years to calculate a score and assign the corresponding rating. It tells our supporters and the outside world that OAR is an organization that continues to do things the right way. We’re most proud of

Charity Navigator is the nation’s largest and most frequently considered evaluator of charities. It rates each charity on how well a charity uses its support, the sustainability of its programs and services, and its commitment to its mission. According to its data, Charity Navigator has influenced around $10 billion donations to charities.

OAR is honored to be among the 12 percent of evaluated charities to receive this prestigious rating for five consecutive years.
