Last weekend, 111 RUN FOR AUTISM athletes put their nine months of training to the test as they ran the 2025 TCS New York City Marathon, 26.2 miles through all five boroughs of New York City. They were part of the over 55,000 marathon runners taking part in the event, cheered on by over two million spectators.
The RUN FOR AUTISM NYC team also put in time fundraising for OAR, and their dedication shows. The team is on track to raise over $385,000 and become the RUN program’s highest fundraising team for the fourth consecutive year. The team has helped the overall RUN program raise over $1 million in 2025, marking the earliest the program has achieved this fundraising milestone.

For many of our runners, the race held extra meaning. Catherine Stolz-Roberts heard about the team when a friend ran with OAR in last year’s race. As a long-time New Yorker, she’s proud to run a race that’s a celebration of her city. Running for OAR gave her race added extra meaning. “I grew up with an autistic brother, and I also have an autistic daughter. So raising money for your organization makes sense to me,” Stolz-Roberts said.
Eve Thring is running with OAR as part of a team with three friends. “Running the New York Marathon has long been a bucket list item of mine, but this year it carries special meaning. The ‘RUN FOR AUTISM,’ is in honor of my son and daughter, both on the autism spectrum. This race is a celebration of their unique strengths and qualities,” Thring said. Her team has raised over $15,000.
