New Operation Autism Grant Aids Military Families
December 03, 2024
OAR’s new Operation Autism Grant Program supports military families with autistic children by providing grants to establish or enhance family support groups. OAR will award three to six grants on a rolling basis through February 21, 2025. At least 50% of the group’s participants must have autism-specific needs, and sessions must be free for military families impacted by autism.
Direct service providers, Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) coordinators, educators, and other professionals working with military families can apply for grants ranging from $500-$3,000 to cover direct costs such as educational materials, sensory-friendly activities, honoraria for guest speakers, and more. Applicants based at U.S. military installations, including those overseas, are also welcome to apply.
