OAR’s fall webinars focused on skills needed for the transition to adulthood. Presenters offered practical strategies, tools, and support plans that parents, professionals, and employers can use to help autistic young adults achieve their goals.
Carmen Izurieta, M.Ed. from College Living Experience discussed the skills that are necessary for autistic young adults to succeed in higher education in “Exploring Skills Needed for Success After High School.” In the “Business Practices and Soft Skills that Lead to Employment Success” webinar, Alissa Brooke, MS, CRC, and Jennifer Todd McDonough, MS, CRC, PBSF, shared their research on supports implemented to help autistic employees be successful in the workplace.
A total of 161 out of 456 registrants (35%) attended the live events. Of the 86 participants who provided feedback, 97% percent reported the content as being helpful and relevant to their needs. One attendee who attended the live Exploring Skills Needed for Success After High School webinar said, “This was a very informative seminar. I look forward to attending future sessions.”
We extend our gratitude to the presenters for sharing their expertise on these important topics. Stay tuned for updates on our next webinar series coming this spring!
