Congratulations to Jade Brown, the recipient of OAR’s Fall 2022 Synchrony Tech Scholarship. The Synchrony Tech Scholarship supports autistic adults interested in pursuing or advancing their career in the tech sector by obtaining a technology-related certification. Scholarship award amounts depend on the technology-related certification program and range from $500 to $5,000. 

Brown will use her scholarship award to attend the Mandiant Academy’s Cybersecurity Malware Analysis Training this June. “The Synchrony Tech Scholarship has granted me the opportunity to grow as a cybersecurity professional and receive formal training in malware reverse engineering. Completing Mandiant’s Malware Analysis Curriculum will allow me to hone my malware disassembly and code analysis skills,” she says. “This scholarship will strengthen my candidacy for specialty roles where I may optimize my talents in cyber threat analysis. I’m grateful that OAR has invested in my development and supports my goals for career advancement.”

In addition to receiving scholarship funds, Brown has the opportunity to work with a mentor from Synchrony. This mentorship provides professional guidance and encouragement from someone with practical experience in a tech career throughout the mentee’s certification program.
