RUN FOR AUTISM

On the morning of January 20th over 20,000 excited runners corralled at the start line to tackle the Chevron Houston Marathon and Aramco Houston Hasociallf Marathon.  The Organization for Autism Research had an amazing team of 30 RUN FOR AUTISM runners participate in the marathon and half marathon.  This was the twelfth year in a row that the RUN FOR AUTISM program was part of Chevron Houston Marathon Run For a Reason Program.  The 2019 team raised an amazing $15,716!  Shout out to our top fundraiser and OAR alum, Niki Rhodes who raised an amazing $1,350!

An unseasonably cold race morning temperature of 33 degrees didn’t stop the RUN FOR AUTISM team from crushing the course in Houston!  Moses Hernandez was OAR’s first male marathon finisher with an impressive time of 4:05:05 and Sydney Minor was the first female marathon finisher with a time of 4:51:47.  Randi West, our top half marath2016 Houston Marathon Weekendoner and female crossed the finish line with an awesome time of 1:36:43.  Michael Brooks, top male half marathoner came it with a great time of 1:50:36.  Congratulations to the entire team, especially to those who ran PR’s!

The RUN FOR AUTISM staff is looking forward to another successful race weekend next year!  Interested in participating in the 2020 Chevron Houston Marathon or Aramco Houston Half Marathon?  Email the RUN Staff to be put on the interest list.
