Autism presents parents and families with many challenges under normal circumstances. Autism in a military family magnifies many of those challenges and adds a few more that are unique to the demands of military life and service.
OAR created the Operation Autism website in 2009 to give military families 24/7 access to autism information, including a base-by-base resource directory. In 2010, OAR released Life Journey through Autism: A Guide for Military Families, a comprehensive guide that has been distributed free of charge to tens of thousands of service members across the world.
This April, we’re asking for your participation in a survey that should take approximately 5 minutes. The purpose is to gather information about the autism-related needs of military families and how OAR can add to its existing support resources. Click here to take the survey and please share the link with others throughout the month of April. Thank you in advance!
