Systematic Adaptation of Evidence-based Resources to Support Adults with ASD in Community Settings
To address the growing need to support transition age youth and young adults with ASD, the proposed project will evaluate organizational, staff and client outcomes associated with an established professional development model and evidence-based practice resources adapted to the specific needs of adults with ASD, their service providers, and adult day program organizations using a community-based participatory research model.
Aim 1: Evaluate consumer, staff and organizational characteristics and needs using mixed methods.
Aim 2: Adapt NPDC assessment and training resources to support training implementation.
Aim 3: Assess the effectiveness of the adapted model and resources using a multiple baseline design in partnership with California Department of Developmental Disability Services (DDS) and CAPTAIN.
