News and Knowledge

GreatNonprofits has designated OAR as a “top-rated” nonprofit every year since the award was introduced 10 years ago. With your help, we can make it 11 years in a row! If OAR has made a positive impact on your experience as a member of the autism community, review OAR on the GreatNonprofits website.

If OAR receives 10 new reviews by October 31, 2020, we will be named a top-rated charity once again. We would love to have your review on the GreatNonprofits site and your help with spreading the word to friends or colleagues. Reviews can be as brief as a few sentences or as long as a few paragraphs, and anyone can submit a review. Being a top-rated nonprofit greatly helps OAR both in fundraising efforts and in reaching a wider audience of families, educators, and self-advocates.

In a 2019 review, one self-advocate wrote, “As an individual with Asperger Syndrome, it is refreshing to have an organization committed to hearing the voices of individuals with autism and genuinely caring about their life outcomes…The work they are doing is helping individuals with autism break down barriers to success and shape a better world!”

GreatNonprofits describes itself as “the leading platform for community-sourced stories about nonprofits.”  Many families, educators, and autism professionals discover OAR’s resources through this website, so it is important that we elevate our presence on it, which will make it easier for people to access our quality evidence-based information and resources.
